The Department of Analytical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry is the body responsible for organising, coordinating and developing teaching and research activities in the two areas of knowledge that comprise it: Analytical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry.
With regard to teaching, the degree programmes in Chemistry, Biochemistry and Oenology account for most of the Department's teaching activity, although teaching is also provided in four other degree programmes. In addition, the Department participates in four master's programmes and two doctoral programmes. Within the framework of the Socrates-Erasmus and Sicue-Séneca programmes, the Department promotes student and staff exchanges with European universities and universities throughout Spain.
In terms of research, five research groups carry out their activities within the Department, participating in a range of projects funded by European, national and regional administrations, in collaboration with other national and international universities. The Department is characterised by a strong commitment to technology transfer, which is reflected in the signing of several contracts with leading companies and public administrations. It also organises various continuing education activities and initiatives aimed at disseminating research outcomes.
